Little can be done if players are kicked out of the clan. Players of a higher rank may expel those who are lower in rank. An elder may expel a participant, a co-leader may expel elders and participants, and so on. Unfortunately, developers cannot forbid clan members to expel players.

Of course, it is not good if the players abuse their power, but the rules do not prohibit this. The best advice you can give is to think before upgrading someone. If you have an open clan, consider changing its type to clan by invitation to select members. Also, consider adding your fellow members to Game Center, Google Play, or Facebook, so you can find each other again at any time.

In addition, to limit this behavior, the developers introduced for the elders a mandatory interval of 20 minutes between the expulsion of players. This break should allow the rest of the clan to retaliate if a player abuses his power. Think before upgrading your players.
